Elovate's Data Retrieval from Magento

Elovate retrieves data from Magento at various points. In this documentation, you'll learn when these syncs occur, what factors influence their speed, and how multiple sync processes work.

What is a "Data Import"?

A data import occurs when Magento sends information to Elovate. This process ensures that Elovate stays updated with the latest changes from your Magento store.

When Does This Happen?

Itโ€™s important to know that data syncing is a continuous process, with multiple syncs triggered by actions performed in Magento.

  • Products, Categories, Pages, Blocks, Attributes:
Elovate requests Magento to send this information every 30 minutes. However, depending on the speed of your Magento system and the size of your catalog, this process may take longer. You can monitor the duration and the last data retrieval time under General Settings > Settings > Imports.

    Manually trigger the data import

  • Additionally, you have the option to manually trigger this process if needed.
โ€‹Important note: When manually triggering the process, make sure to select all entities (stores, pages, blocks, attributesets, attributes, categories and products)
    โ€‹

  • Less Common Situations โ€“ Night Sync:
Elovate also performs a nightly sync to update data that is less frequently changed in Magento. Examples include newly created or deleted store views and deleted entities (products too). If you're missing data and are unsure whether it falls under the night sync, feel free to reach out to us for assistance.

Factors That Influence Sync Speed:

  • Magento Performance: The speed of your Magento instance can affect how quickly data is sent to Elovate.

  • Catalog Size: Larger catalogs may take more time to sync, especially for product-related data.

Import shows no end date

In some cases, the import may show no end date, indicating that the process likely cannot finish before a new import begins. If you encounter this situation, please contact us, as it may indicate that your Magento system is not performing at an adequate speed.
