Within Elovate import, you can define the multi-select delimiter, thousands separator, and decimal separator. Here's when to use them and how to use these options.
β
Multi select delimiter
In some cases, attributes can have multiple entities within a cell. Let's take a common example: category IDs. When assigning a product to multiple categories, you will have to make use of a multi-select delimiter. This delimiter has to correspond to the Excel file. If you use "," to separate category IDs in your Excel file, then you will have to change the multi-select delimiter in Elovate to ",".
Thousand separator
When working with larger numbers, such as prices, you might use a thousand separator like ".". You can define what the thousand separator should correspond to, similar to the multi-select delimiter. If in your file they are separated with another character, then change it in Elovate.
β
Note: It's important that within your file, you set the price fields to "currency" and not text.
β
Decimal separator
You may encounter scenarios involving a decimal separator. Similar to the logic applied for the thousand separator, the decimal separator serves the purpose of distinguishing the decimal portion of a number.
