How to update prices?
Updated over a week ago

When creating a product, a price is assigned, often accompanied by additional price attributes. Frequently, the price attributes are dynamic requiring periodic updates. However, the task of updating prices can be time-consuming. Elovate's import feature simplifies this process, making price updates effortlessly straightforward.

Step 0 - Create and or use a file

In various scenarios, you may possess an existing file or a compilation of products that require price modifications. If you don't already have a file containing the products you wish to update, you can create one manually. All you need is an SKU, and then you can add headers for the price attributes you wish to update. However, we highly recommend utilizing Elovate's export feature to get a list of items you wish to update.

Step 1 - Change the prices

Once you have obtained your file, it's time to make changes. You can accomplish this directly within the file.

Step 2 - Upload your file in Elovate

Visit the import app in Elovate and upload the file where you made the necessary changes. Ensure that the file headers are correctly transformed to the corresponding values in the "map to attribute" section.

Step 3 - Validate, review and import

Click on "Validate." Once the validation process is complete, open the import and select "Review and Import." Here, you can review what will be imported and the changes that will be made. If everything is correct, click on "Run Import."

Updating a price to "null" / zero

In some cases, you may want to change the price to an empty field or multiple fields. This can only be done for existing products due to Magento's rules, which dictate that the price must always be greater than 0 when being created. When the product already has a price, you can update it to either ""null"" or 0 by making this adjustment in your file and checking the "Update empty" box.
