Overview
Mass updating allows you to apply changes to a large group of products in one go.
This is ideal for price adjustments, stock updates, attribute changes, and more.
The process is similar to a regular import, but with a focus on updating existing product data instead of creating new products.
Steps
1. Go to the import module
Navigate to Apps → Import.
Either create a new import job or open an existing one.
2. Prepare your file
Your file should contain at least the SKU column (to identify the products) and the attributes you want to update.
Any attribute not included in the file will remain unchanged.
3. Upload the file
You can upload via CSV, Excel, or Google Sheets.
Make sure the headers match the Magento attributes, or have them mapped in the import mapping step.
4. Configure import options
In the mapping step, match your file headers to Magento attributes.
Use the Update empty or Skip update toggles if needed:
Update empty: Updates even if the new value is empty.
Skip update: Skips changes for that attribute entirely.
5. Validate the import
Click Validate to check for errors.
If issues are found, fix them and re-validate.
6. Run the import
Once validation is successful, click Run import.
The import status will go from Scheduled → Validated → Importing → Done.
7. Verify in Magento
Remember: “Done” means Elovate has sent the data to Magento.
The actual update confirmation should be checked in Magento directly.
Tips for mass updating
Always test with a small batch first.
Keep a backup of your original product data.
Use scheduling if you want to run mass updates at specific intervals.
