Selecting entity type (product, category, CMS, attributes)

Learn how to select entity types like products, categories, CMS pages, attributes, blocks, and Magefan blogs for translation in Elovate

Updated this week

When creating a translation job in Elovate, one of the first steps is selecting the entity type you want to translate.

This determines which kind of Magento content will be included in the job.

1. Supported entity types

Elovate supports translation for:

  • Products – Product names, descriptions, meta data, and other selected attributes.

  • Categories – Category names, descriptions, meta data, and other selected attributes.

  • CMS pages – Page titles, content, and SEO fields.

  • Attributes – Labels and options for product attributes.

  • Blocks – CMS static blocks and their content.

  • Magefan blogs – Blog titles, content, and meta data.

2. How to select an entity type

When you create a new translation job:

  1. Go to Apps → Translations → Jobs.

  2. Click Add new translation job.

  3. Under Entities to translate, select your desired entity type(s).

  4. You can select more than one if you want to translate multiple types in a single job.

3. Choosing attributes to translate

After selecting your entity type:

  • A list of translatable fields will appear based on the entity type you chose.

  • Tick the boxes for the fields you want to include.

Example (Products):

  • Name

  • Description

  • Short description

  • Meta title

  • Meta description

4. Filtering entities

Use the Rule builder to filter which specific entities will be included in your job.

Examples:

  • Products where Status = Enabled and Store view = English

  • Categories where Description is empty

  • CMS pages where Meta description is empty

Tip

Choosing the right entity type ensures you only translate what’s relevant — saving time and translation credits.
